SYNOP: (NWS SAN DIEGO)
Weak offshore flow will continue into the weekend for inland areas with locally gusty east to northeast to 30 mph near the coastal slopes of the mountains from late at night into the morning each day. Very low humidity, except near the coast, will continue today with a very slight recovery on Saturday, and a little greater recovery on Sunday as weak onshore flow returns. Elevated to locally critical fire fire weather conditions will continue today for mountains, valleys, and inland Orange County with elevated conditions on Saturday.

Maximum temperatures will be around 5 degrees above normal, with upper 50s and 60s across the mountains and mid 70s to mid 80s in the valleys.

· There will be widespread single digit minimum humidity and poor nighttime humidity recovery away from the coastal areas.

· Local northeast winds of 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 35 mph will surface across the mountains and below the canyons and passes of Southern California during the nights and mornings

NWS LAS VEGAS SYNOP– (NORTH & EAST OF COUNTY)
A warming trend will continue through the weekend with seasonable temperatures expected through next week. Very dry minimum humidities (below 15 percent) and poor overnight recoveries are expected to continue as well. Winds will be very light across most of the region. The exception will be the Colorado River valley where north breezes will linger through Saturday.

SPECIAL NOTES:

DAILY FUELS/FIRE POTENTIAL:
Warm and dry conditions along with critically dry fuels will cause there to be an elevated threat for large fire across the area through the end of next week. If an ignition were to occur in a locally windy area, rapid rates of spread and long range spotting will be likely. Otherwise, expect moderate rates of spread in the afternoons where fuels and topography are favorably aligned. Expect moderate initial attack activity across the region through the end of next week.

SANTA ANA WILDFIRE THREAT INDEX: TODAY: GREY-NO RATING

NO RATING: Sundowner winds are either not expected, or will not contribute to significant fire activity.

MARGINAL: Upon ignition, fires may grow rapidly.

MODERATE: Upon ignition, fires will grow rapidly and will be difficult to control.

HIGH: Upon ignition, fires will grow very rapidly, will burn intensely, and will be very difficult to control

EXTREME: Upon ignition, fires will have extreme growth, will burn very intensely, and will be uncontrollable.
