SYNOP: (NWS SAN DIEGO)
Onshore flow will strengthen into Friday spreading cooling and higher coastal humidity inland. The flow will turn weakly offshore during the weekend with a warming trend. Lower inland humidity combined with gusty northeast winds to 35 mph near the coastal slopes of the mountains will elevated fire weather conditions on Sunday. For early next week, the flow will transition back to onshore and strengthen. Monday will cool slightly followed by greater cooling into the middle of next week. There is a slight chance of showers around Wednesday.

Inland humidity will begin to recover today. Onshore flow will strengthen Wednesday through Friday, spreading cooling and humidity inland. Weak offshore flow this weekend will bring warmer and drier weather, as well as areas of gusty northeast winds to the coastal slopes and through the passes and canyons.

High temperatures through Friday in the 50s in the mountains to the 70s at lower elevations. Temperatures over the weekend will reach the 80s in the valleys, but below normal readings can be expected by next Tuesday – Thursday.

· Minimum RH will generally be in the teens the next few days due to cooler weather and increased cloud cover.

· Northwest winds 15-25 mph along the central coast Friday. Local north winds of 10-20 mph possible in Santa Barbara County Friday night into Saturday.

· Light offshore winds of 15-25 mph with gusts to 35 mph possible Sunday morning across Southern CA.

· Isolated showers possible midweek, mainly in the Sierras. Low snow levels possible. Precipitation will be under a 0.25” in any given location.

NWS LAS VEGAS SYNOP– (NORTH & EAST OF COUNTY)
Dry conditions are expected through early next week with temperatures remaining above normal. Periods of mid and high clouds can be expected, especially later today into Thursday, but no precipitation is forecast. A pattern change late next week may bring increasing chances for rainfall to the region, but confidence is still fairly low.

DAILY FUELS/FIRE POTENTIAL:
Expect lower large fire potential through Friday, mainly due to the stabilizing effect of partly to mostly cloudy skies during peak heating hours. The cloud cover will keep fuel temperatures lower during the afternoon which should result in lower IC’s the next few days. Light winds should keep rates of spread moderate, at best, where fuels and slope align. Over the weekend, there may be an increase in IA and resource demand due to sunny, warmer and drier weather. The highest fire potential during the outlook period will likely be Saturday evening through Sunday night due to poor RH recovery and higher afternoon ERC’s. Looking ahead to next week, several long range models generate light, intermittent precipitation across the district Wednesday, but any rainfall received will be far too light to change fuel moisture values much in the long term. Weather patterns still don’t support much precipitation over the next 2 weeks, but at least no hot weather is expected after this weekend.
