SYNOP: (NWS SAN DIEGO)
A trough of low pressure will continue to deepen the marine layer into Friday with stronger onshore flow spreading cooling and higher coastal humidity inland. High pressure over the eastern Pacific will expand across California during the weekend bringing a warming trend. Offshore flow will develop during the weekend and peak on Sunday morning with northeast winds along and near coastal slopes of the mountains and below passes and canyons with gusts mostly 35 mph or less. The humidity on Sunday for inland areas will fall to around 10 percent. Those winds combined with the low humidity will bring a period of elevated fire weather conditions on Sunday, mainly for the mountains and inland valleys, and near the coastal slopes of the Santa Ana Mountains. High pressure will begin to weaken on Sunday with a low pressure system moving to near the West Coast for Wednesday and Thursday. Coolingand higher coastal humidity will spread inland on Monday and Tuesday with a chance of showers for Wednesday and Thursday.

Temperatures will be around normal through Friday, with mid 50s to mid 60s across the mountains and upper 60s and 70s in the valleys.
· Minimum humidity will be mainly in the teens away from the coastal areas today and then increase to between 15% and 30% Friday.

· Winds will be light through Friday.

· Temperatures will warm around 10 degrees Saturday and then be 10 to 15 degrees above normal Sunday and Monday.

· Minimum humidity will be mainly in the single digits and teens Saturday through Monday.

· Northeast winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 40 mph will surface across the mountains and below the canyons and passes of Southern California Saturday morning through Sunday morning.

· Winds will become light by Sunday evening.

· Significant cooling and an increase in humidity will occur Tuesday and Wednesday.

· Gusty and potentially strong south to west winds will occur over the mountains and deserts Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday evening.

· Depending on the exact track of the trough or low pressure area, showers will be possible across the area Wednesday.

NWS LAS VEGAS SYNOP– (NORTH & EAST OF COUNTY)
Widespread high clouds today will give way to sunny skies again by the weekend. A round of north breezes is possible over the weekend, especially down the Colorado River Valley, where elevated fire weather conditions are expected. Dry conditions will persist into early next week but a pattern change may bring wetter
conditions to the region by midweek.

SPECIAL NOTES:

DAILY FUELS/FIRE POTENTIAL:
New ignitions will continue to occur through Friday due to record low fuel moisture along with low humidity. These new ignitions will remain small due to light winds and near normal temperatures. The potential for large fire will become elevated across Southern California this weekend as gusty offshore winds combine with very warm temperatures and very low humidity. Rapid rates of spread and long range spotting will be likely on new ignitions in windy areas this weekend. Any large fires that occur this weekend will burn actively through Monday as very warm and dry conditions continue. However, any new ignitions will likely remain small on Monday due to light winds. Expect little or no fire activity across the region Tuesday and Wednesday as temperatures cool and humidity increases

SANTA ANA WILDFIRE THREAT INDEX: TODAY: GREY-NO RATING

NO RATING: Sundowner winds are either not expected, or will not contribute to significant
fire activity.

MARGINAL: Upon ignition, fires may grow rapidly.

MODERATE: Upon ignition, fires will grow rapidly and will be difficult to control.

HIGH: Upon ignition, fires will grow very rapidly, will burn intensely, and will be very difficult to control

EXTREME: Upon ignition, fires will have extreme growth, will burn very intensely, and will be uncontrollable.
