SYNOP: (NWS SAN DIEGO)
Fair weather will prevail today. Another low pressure system from the northwest will move through southern California for tonight and early Friday. This will bring gusty west winds in the mountains and deserts into tonight, followed by gusty north winds on Friday. The marine layer will return and deepen onto the lower coastal mountain slopes for early Friday with a slight chance of light showers near the mountains for Friday afternoon. The weekend will be dry and warmer. Another trough of low pressure from the northwest will bring cooling and gusty winds for early next week.
North-northwest winds of 20-30 mph with gusts to 50 mph expected in Santa Barbara County, the I-5 Corridor and the Kern County Mountains through the evening.

· Isolated showers possible this afternoon and tonight in the Sierras and Mono County. Rainfall under 0.25” expected.

· Temperatures in the 50s and 60s in the mountains, 70s in the valleys to the 90s in the low desert today and Friday. Look for temperatures to climb 5-10 degrees over the weekend.

· Onshore flow, stratus and cooler weather early next week. Turning windy in the Antelope Valley and the Banning Pass by Monday.

· No significant offshore flow or precipitation expected the next 7-10 days.

NWS LAS VEGAS SYNOP– (NORTH & EAST OF COUNTY)
Unsettled weather will continue as another disturbance moves over our region later today through Friday. Mild conditions Saturday will give way to increasing winds late Sunday through early next week.

SPECIAL NOTES:

DAILY FUELS/FIRE POTENTIAL:
Dead fuel moisture readings will continue to slide over all areas the next few days. Seasonal grasses will be nearly cured out for the season by this time next week across inland areas of Southern CA. Coastal areas and the Sierra Foothills will see these fuel types become much drier over the weekend. But live fuels, including native brush and shrubs should continue to show growth through the period.
Large fire potential will be low overall, but any new start in fuels beds dominated by dead vegetation may show rapid rates of spread in the desert interface areas due to wind today and early next week
