SYNOP: (NWS SAN DIEGO)
A low pressure system moving through southern California today will bring cooling, scattered showers along and west of the mountains, and stronger and gusty west winds for the mountains and deserts. High pressure aloft near the West Coast will bring dry weather and warming for Wednesday and Thursday. A pair of weak low pressure systems will move through southern California for late
Friday and again Saturday spreading cooling and higher coastal humidity inland with gusty west winds in the mountains and deserts. Dry weather with a warming trend will follow for Sunday through Tuesday.

Scattered showers will move across the region through this afternoon with most locations expected to receive less than a quarter inch of additional rainfall.
· The snow level will be between 6,000 and 7,000 feet.

· Westerly winds of 20 to 40 mph with gusts to 60 mph will surface across the wind prone mountain and desert areas through this afternoon.

· There will be north winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 50 mph across much of Santa Barbara County, the Grapevine, and the desert tonight.

· Temperatures will be around 10 degrees below normal today, with mid 40s to mid 50s across the mountains and upper 50s and 60s in the valleys.

· Temperatures will warm 10 to 15 degrees away from the coast Wednesday and then warm another 5 to 10 degrees Thursday.

· Temperatures will be in the mid to upper 80s across most valley locations on Thursday.

· Local northeast winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 40 mph will surface across the mountain and below the canyons and passes of Southern California Thursday morning.

· Temperatures will cool a few degrees Friday and then significant cooling will occur this weekend.

· Strong and gusty westerly winds will surface across the mountains and deserts this weekend.

· Significant warming and drying will take place early next week.

· There will be local gusty offshore winds over the mountains and below the canyons and passes of Southern California early next week.

NWS LAS VEGAS SYNOP– (NORTH & EAST OF COUNTY)
Unsettled and cool conditions are expected today with numerous showers and isolated thunderstorms expected during the afternoon. Shower coverage will be greatest across Southern Nevada and Northwest Arizona. Wednesday through the weekend…a significant warm up is in store with temperatures rising well above normal. Northerly winds along the Colorado River may result in elevated fire danger for the later half of the week.

FORECAST DETAILS

TODAY
Wind
Wind gusts between 30-50 mph in San Bernardino County.
Elsewhere gusts around 20-30 likely.

DAILY FUELS/FIRE POTENTIAL:
The potential for large fire will be low across the region through the forecast period. The large fire threat will be low due to high live fuel moistures.
