SOUTH OPS WX:
A weak ridge of high pressure will build into California from the Pacific Ocean today. A trough will drop into the Great Basin from the Pacific Northwest Friday and Saturday. Strong high pressure will build into California from the southwest Sunday and be directly overhead Monday through the middle of next week.

ꞏ Temperatures will warm to a little above normal today, with mid 60s to mid 70s across the mountains and upper 70s and 80s in the valleys.

ꞏ Minimum humidity will be mainly between 15% and 30% away from the coastal areas today.

ꞏ Temperatures will cool to a little below normal Friday and Saturday, with upper 50s and 60s across the mountains and 70s to low 80s in the valleys.

ꞏ Minimum humidity will increase to between 20% and 40% Friday and Saturday.

ꞏ Westerly winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 50 mph will surface across the mountain ridges and desert passes Friday morning through Friday night.

ꞏ A significant warming and drying trend will occur Sunday through the middle of next week.

ꞏ Widespread triple digit heat will occur across the valleys for the first time this year Tuesday and Wednesday.

ꞏ Minimum humidity will be mainly in the teens Monday through the middle of next week.

ꞏ Winds will be light Saturday through the middle of next week.

ꞏ There will be no shower or thunderstorm activity across the region through the middle of next week.

SYNOP: (NWS SAN DIEGO)
The warming trend will continue today with stronger onshore flow bringing a cooling trend for Friday and Saturday. The marine layer will deepen for Friday and Saturday to around 2500 to 3000 feet on
Saturday. High pressure will strengthen over Baja into California for Sunday through Tuesday. The heat is expected to peak for inland areas on Tuesday or Wednesday with high temperatures at least 5 to 10 degrees above average for most areas. The marine layer will gradually decrease in depth to around 1200 feet for the
middle of next week.

NWS LAS VEGAS SYNOP– (NORTH & EAST OF COUNTY)
Key Points:
• Issued a Wind Advisory for western San Bernardino County from noon to 8 PM Friday.
• Gusty winds also expected for the remainder of the area.

A weather disturbance passing by to the north on Friday will briefly elevate fire concerns as increasing winds
combine with hot and dry conditions. Currently, winds have increased slightly from the previous forecast and critical fire weather may be a concern, especially in portions of NV-465, NV-461, AZ-102, and CA-228. Fuels look to be a lower concern compared to last week, and uncertainty remains if widespread critical fire conditions will develop in those zones. Therefore- held off on a Red Flag Warning for Friday for the moment.

Over the weekend, less wind and seasonal temperatures are expected resulting in lower fire concerns. Temperatures are forecast to rapidly warm next week with strong high pressure possibly resulting in the hottest conditions of the year thus far by the middle of the week.

DAILY FUELS/FIRE POTENTIAL:
Initial attack activity will continue to be light through Saturday due to the absence of significant fire weather. Hot and dry conditions will cause initial attack activity to increase Sunday through the middle of next week. Even though it will be hot and dry Sunday through the middle of next week, the potential for large fire will be low due to light winds and well above normal live fuel moisture
